Storing, retrieving, and sending information was never that easy. The commencement of IT and its widespread fangs made it happen. It was not until my undergraduate journey in the US that made me realised its importance. My cousins introduced me to it, and from inception to advancements, I found it fascinating. Their daily work schedule and patterns attracted me to the core, and the next thing I knew was the beginning of my new stint in the domain of information systems. However, I did not completely switch to IT but resorted somewhere in between where I could utilize a managerial approach with technology. I pursued Management Information Systems and finally began to tread on the path that I grew up seeing my father aligning with my newly developed interest. My step proved to be fruitful, and with no regrets, I loved doing what I was doing. Finally, with the culmination of my bachelor’s, I decided to gain more in-depth knowledge of MIS and understand how Information system managers may work not just in the technology sector but also in other areas like health care. Since information systems are utilized for a wide range of tasks, from the automation of payroll deposits to the collecting of clinical trial findings, I am propelled to garner more insights on the same from this course from the McGill university.

I have always been dedicated to learning something new through my academics; my interest manifested in my transition proved to be conducive to my growth. Learning cloud computing enhanced my interest, and from there on, I didn’t look back. From learning how to utilize Linux command-line interfaces, cloud enablement technologies, deployment of cloud resources, IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS systems to solve business problems to common Cloud automation and security technologies for Cloud infrastructure in AWS, all helped me establish a strong footing for my career. I developed the capacity to collaborate in a cloud environment that enabled me to operate in the field interaction and exchange of information more conveniently than I could through conventional channels. Through my well-sorted curriculum, we mastered the skills to utilize cloud computing which helps in providing staff, contractors, and third parties access to the same data if a project is being managed from different locations. Backing data and storing it through the internet saved a lot of time and enhanced accessibility.

With every new concept and class, I began to analyse things better and was more than enthralled to be a part of such a domain. Staying abreast of classroom learning, I also ventured into multidimensional activities and saw extracurricular as one of the most reliable sources for it. The most I value was being a member of Global Connections at University of California, where I arranged ‘Coffee hour’ outreach sessions for incoming international students and school advisors. Additionally, I also worked at Ford Foundation, which helped people procure food, blankets, medications, and other services for homeless people in India during the pandemic lockdown. These experiences bolstered my courage to interact in various domains.

One such sphere was my internship, where I, as Data Operator in an accountancy firm, got the opportunity to learn how to analyse data and present it in MS Excel. My responsibility equipped me with a substantial understanding of the analysis of data in real-world business settings. However, I had prior knowledge of it since I took an introduction to Business Analytics course in my undergrad. Interning in this space helped me carve out my ultimate inclination toward the field, and fostering it with my prior knowledge pushed me to pursue a Master’s in Information Systems.

This course from your university seems imperative for my career goals as well as my expanding passion. I am keen to pursue this course and believe that learning this will augment my abilities, making me adept at information systems function, database management, systems analysis and design, project management, business process design, security management, business analytics, and other related topics. The preparation for managerial and executive positions is one of the primary goals of the MSIS curriculum, which places a strong emphasis on business management. In management information systems, the most important aspect of one’s job is to plan what other people are responsible for delivering. Post this course, I see myself functioning to help brands operate on an international level and utilize my knowledge to maintain their technological systems like software, hardware, and networks.

McGill university has attracted me due to its emphasis on an industry-oriented curriculum that is dedicated to giving rise to the blooming clairvoyants of the business and IT world. The robust facilities, veteran batch of staff and teachers, extensive project work, and more have propelled me to look at McGill university as my ultimate option for the master’s study. The university promises to equip its students with basic and advanced skill sets along with the degree.

Above all, Canada is known for its higher educational standards and diligence in providing an excellent atmosphere for research and development. The education here is not highly priced, and the multi-cultural setup of the state, as well as the institute, is best compared to any other university across the globe. I believe in my chosen field; I would be required to interact with clients from various countries. Hence, studying in Canada will not only help me obtain a formal degree but will also enable me to enrich my overall personality and enhance my communication skills. This will help immensely in my future career, where such skills are of high importance considering the nature of the domain, in which dealing with a global clientele base is requisite.

I, therefore, conclude my statement by putting forward my zeal to achieve and deliver the best to all around me. I am sure to contribute to the growth of your institute as well as myself.
